The suppressor used a ported barrel and the recoil spring was shortened and the bolt lightened to ensure reliable function. The AGM MKII Sten is constructed completely out of a high quality metal that gives the gun a very solid feeling when held. The Sten Mk II(S) was a covert ops variant with an extremely effective integral suppressor developed at the request of the British Special Operations Executive by Major Hugh Reeves, who would go on to design the Welrod Pistol.

I may make a video on the MKV in the future, so if you like Stens, be sure to subscribe. The AGM Full Metal MKII Sten Airsoft Gun is easily the best replica of the Sten on the market and will impress any caliber of airsoft player. This replica is based on the modified GearBox v3. If you are interested in semi-auto stens, you can watch my video here to see what is involved in a build. AGM MKII Sten British Sub Machine Gun Airsoft Gun AGM-MP058, just like the original gun in this replica there are parts made of metal, such as: gun breech mechanism cover, barrel, magazine, folding buttstock. These guns also require some grunt to charge, so the closer distance to the sear makes this almost half as easy with the MKV.īut enough technical stuff.my point is, if you want to build a semi sten that is fun to shoot and reliable, I suggest the MKV over the other models. The Sten MK II is a very simple and straightforward machine gun made mostly of metal stampings. With the MKV design, it is pretty much guaranteed that if the round is loaded, the bolt has traveled far back enough to catch the hammer/striker. Also included is a Sten MK V parts kit (less magazine, and receiver tube pieces) which includes wooden buttstock, pistol grip, and vertical foregrip, barrel, both mainsprings, mag housing and trigger group assembly. The same thing can happen when charging the gun. So you end up with a fresh round chambered, but the hammer is not cocked. That would be the butt stock only, the small vertical grip requires a space. The good news for registered Sten owners is that many of the parts of the MK III are the same as a MK II. With a MKII or MKIII semi auto, it is possible for the bolt to short stroke and not catch the striker (or linear hammer depending on what you consider it). MKII - Short sight radius, horrible pyramid front sight.

The best part about the MKV compared to other semi auto stens is the short distance the bolt has to travel for reset. The heavy wood buttstock balances the 16" barrel very nicely. The Sten Gun was designed to fill this gap. Though I originally built this as a pistol, it does much better as a rifle. After the evacuation from Dunkirk in May 1940, the British Army was desperately short of modern automatic weapons. This was built from a British MKV kit from Apex Gun Parts with Indianapolis Ordinance semi auto parts. Third semi Sten I have built, and probably my favorite.
